why is there so much green color on this galaxy and also around it? and what is the purple "thing" overlapping it?

Green colour around galaxy is probably due to different atmospheric conditions when green filter image was taken, and the galaxy was a bit fuzzier. The purple square and green line are artifacts. I don't even see them anymore.
