why are we looking at galaxies now?

hi. sorry if I sound dumb but I was wondering what the aim of the current research is. I don't go on any of the other zooniverse projects and I just wanted to know what you are looking for now. I use the phone app which takes you straight to classification so don't know what going on.
thank you

Umm.. let me remember what the current research is.. size of nuclear bulges. tidal trails,
The scientists write up what they want to find in the Galaxy Zoo Blog.
Blogs from Zooniverse about galaxies: http://blog.galaxyzoo.org/
https://blog.galaxyzoo.org/2016/04/07/new-galaxies-in-galaxy-zoo/ "With the release of DECaLS second data release (DR2) we have added 61,595 new galaxies into Galaxy Zoo. ...
https://blog.galaxyzoo.org/2016/02/18/finished-with-two-more-sets-of-galaxy-images/ "One very preliminary result: as we’d predicted, the better conditions in DECaLS (bigger camera, better night sky seeing, larger telescope mirror) are revealing galaxies that were classified in SDSS as smooth, but in fact with faint or extended disks and features that are now visible. "

https://blog.galaxyzoo.org/2015/09/21/new-images-for-galaxy-zoo-part-1-decals/ "The DECaLS images in Galaxy Zoo are a smaller group taken from a catalog called the NASA-Sloan Atlas. We’re focusing on somewhat larger and brighter galaxies from the catalog. The reason is that although many of these galaxies have been classified in GZ already via their Sloan images, we’re particularly interested in measuring details like tidal tails from mergers, seeing fainter spiral structures, and separating galaxies that couldn’t be individually resolved in the Sloan data. Here is what the galaxy zoo researchers are interested in https://www.galaxyzoo.org/#/team
And we are describing galaxies, so that software can be programmed to do it too.
