Side on disc galaxy

  So this was cool finally seeing a side-on disc, and wanted to get anyones' opinion in regards to the large bulge surrounding the galaxy as well as the small "dusty" area on the top right. It doesn't seem to be in the process of undergoing a merge (galaxy to the left seems further away and therefore too far to interact), but would this represent a potential merger in the somewhat recent past and is still cleaning up into a more uniform disc shape?

  Agree, very bright bulge, and asymmetrical halo and possible faint area of stars off to the side. I agree that the galaxy has had a merger in the recent past, and there is a dust trail formed. Strange that no one has commented on it yet. Maybe it is one of the galaxies new on the list several months ago?
