Eastern stream

Ever so faintly one can see a stream of some sort of light and / or gas being projected east of the given Galaxy. (East may be incorrect, 3o'clock direction may be more fitting)
Could that be particles from a different celestial body being pulled toward the Galaxy, or perhaps something, such as a black hole or otherwise other undetected cosmic event that is drawing the particles away.

and you are correct , 3 oclock is west when looking up at the sky.
