    Is this an example of merging galaxies?

    Technically, it is 0.567 billion light years away. Very flat spectrum with high [OIII] levels. Perhaps a merger caused by two small or dwarf galaxies? The less bright 'cloud' to the right might be what remains of one of them. Where there is an interaction, star formation takes place, which is why the irregular galaxy is bright blue. The two bright parts could be refered to as 'knots'. Seems plausible...
