Zooites' own projects/research
-
by JeanTate
In the Galaxy Zoo forum there were quite a few independent projects, begun by, and/or run by, ordinary zooites*.
For example (this is NOT intended to be complete in any way):
There were also projects kicked off by NGC3314:
In other Zooniverse projects, zooites are actively collaborating with each other, doing independent research^; for example (also NOT intended to be complete in any way):
-
Planetary TTV thread (Planet Hunters)
-
Interesting things from NVSS survey ( Yes! I have finally renamed this thread!) (Radio Galaxy Zoo)
-
AGS00001se - aka UGC 06337 (Quench)
And let's not forget Spacewarps! 😄
I've started this thread to provide a single source to record, and discuss (at a high level only!) zooites' own, independent Galaxy Zoo projects/research.

...
And I have no shame whatsoever in plugging my own project, begun here earlier today: Shredded (smashed) galaxies: post and discuss them here! 😃
*they're all retired/dead now of course; most had either finished or been abandoned when the forum was closed, but some were open-ended
^Of course some members of the various Science Teams are involved, to varying degrees, as are scientists not on such teams; unlike for many GZ forum projects, thread titles don't tell you much about the research being done!Posted
