Polar ring was my first thought, but vrooje (scienceteam) pointed out that the spikes are at exactly the same angle as the ones from a star

So they are probably diffractionspikes because of the very bright center.

Could it be jets? Could be a coincidence that they're at same angle as star's diffraction spikes, they are at 90 degrees from galaxy plane

If you look through the comments below, it is suggested that these are diffraction spikes (artifacts) caused by the brightness of the center
