  So I don't really see any sign of a bulge in any of these, what I think are galaxies, are these galaxies?

  Yes, these two are galaxies. Probably merging.
  Both are very disturbed, or you could go for irregulars

  Wow! What a fantastic merger! These galaxies are like 2 lovers--Pyramus & Thisbe kissing through a wall.
