    I noticed the lack of a culprit too, but it could be an older merger, as the core is sooo big. And rather long too.

    With the amount of distortion in the 'arms' I would of expected a second core to be visible if it were a late stage merger.

    1/2) Hey Capella05, I looked for galaxy images that might be similar, and found that the antenna galaxy is a reasonable match.

    2/2) The core in this one is more overlapped, and this galaxy has wider 'antennas'. I'd call this one the "viking helmet" galaxy.
