The object in the centre of the image is a foreground star from our galaxy. The blue centre is just an optical artifact.

I do not think the star has anything to do with spiral seems much closer and older looks like it could be from another galaxy in the cluster

Oh my, my, my, my! What a beautiful spiral! Central object likely a star in our galaxy. Upper left edge-on or ellipse is likely far off.
