    I'd go for a barred disturbed spiral seen face on with two faint and fuzzy arms.

    A lot of tidal debris. It is Now clear to me that it is a side but it is also a kind of irregular.

    but would the debris pour out of the bottom and the top?. Isn't it more likely to go sideways meaning it's face on?

    Very nice! These are trails of stars. Jets are small features seen in only a few nearby galaxies.
