sembra che la barrata centrale sia giĆ  doppia con due nuclei che si stanno unendo in attesa di conglobare anche quella a dx, imm. spett.

Very nice merger! Two spiral galaxies merging, one with possibly double bar?

Possible #transient, the small green dot below the nucleus of the right hand galaxy. Not visible in Pan-STARRS.

#Merger. Looks so peaceful, but is probably very violent?

#merger I love the two stars merging

I think this is not a collision, it's a blanket. Who knows it is difficult to find out. In addition, I think a star is covered in the larger galaxy.

What do you mean "it's a blanket" because it looks like several galaxies to me.

This is a spectroscopically confirmed close pair, not an overlap: http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/bib_query?2006AJ....132..197W

(I think by "blanket" you might mean galaxies that aren't physically close to one another but appear to overlap on the sky?)

Oh, I see, "blanket" meaning covering or overlap.

Thanks for the information "vroje". That's exactly what I thought was physically not close to each other. But I was wrong about that.

This sort of view keeps us awake though! (or wakes us up?)
