  With lots of features, I wouldn't classify this one as an elliptical (smooth).

  @GoldenRule I can't see any dust lanes here. A dust lane looks like a narrow, dark band most often across a galaxy viewed from the side.

  Somehow, I missed the dust reference ! Maybe you are mistaking the spiral arms for dust lanes ?

  I do not see dust lanes. This is a ring galaxy with a bulge, but the ring has its own spirals (two by my count). How interesting!

  #doublering Started as a spiral. Something disconnected the arms from the bulge. Gold dust betw arms & bulge. Elegant galaxy!
