Really doesn't look artificial to me, first bet would be unreported supernova (not in TNS, NED or SIMBAD)

I think it's an artifact. I've seen these dots, though smaller, in GAMA images earlier.They have all had this special bright blue colour.

Yeah I know those dots, but aren't they usually very small, sharp and square? Not like this IIRC

You're right, the other dots were smaller with a sharp edge, but not square I think. It's mostly the colour which is the same.

...Although of course we've never seen what colour a supernova is in a GAMA image before 😃

nope we haven't, I tried to get to the FITS files but no success yet. Also I'm not sure anymore these are actually RGB images or 2-colored
