Galaxy Zoo Talk
Why is the centre clear? why is the nucleus off centre? Beautiful galaxy
This is unusual. There is a double or even triple bar.
Subject to a recent merger? Or still collapsing dust/star clouds?
Blue coloured arm not related to disc. Interesting but why?
What is the dark centre? Are the two stars in the arms behind the galaxy. Of great beauty.
Recent merger, not yet settled down? Lensing?
Is this a merger? Or could it be large star clusters in two arms?
Could this be a binary system? It seems distorted by another gravity field.
Star obscuring galaxy or part of it?
I love this one. Presumably the result of a galaxy collision which has left one nucleus bigger than the other.
Is the strange blue double centred item part of the galaxy? Or is it a binary star?
Just discernable ring some way out from the galaxy.
Is the strange dark shape in the centre of the bulge a telescope error or is it something more interesting?
Could these two be starting a merger? Or are they light years away in distance?
Appears to be a rotating bar with a sprinkling of stars (millions) from the ends. A sort of proto-arm galaxy
Is this a proto-galaxy? There is a hint of a forming nucleus.
Is this a merger of two galaxies or an irregular cluster within the galaxy and rotating 'dumbell' style?
Is this a proto-galaxy with the start of arms before forming a nucleus?
Is this a proto-galaxy. One in the stage of coming together?
Spiral arm galaxy. What is the red and yellow disc? Is it a very dim star closer or a very tight star cluster?
Galaxy with a dark centre to the bright inner. How can that happen that we see this?
Merger.
Galaxy forming?
One very long arm trailing away. The stars at the end must feel very lonely!
Galaxy cluster. Two possibly starting merger, or one is further away!
Galaxy with a bright tight centre. The ring around the centre, is it a real ring of stars or a feature caused by refracted light?
The centre of this little galaxy is a bar with two loose arms. Very odd.
Edge-on view of galaxy with dust lane (?) wrapped around the galaxy. Beautiful.
A conventional galaxy except what are the two anomalies, green & red, on the edge?
The most beautiful galaxy picture! What is that circle with a white dot in it at the centre.
Merger or a binary system galaxy
Side view looking through two spiral arms. Makes it look like it has three centres.
Is this a binary system? There is tidal disturbance.
Possible eventual merger with the two blue small galaxies? Alien four eyed craft top left!
Beautiful but I am unable to understand how this pattern arises.
Possible early merger with tidal forces starting to disturb one outer ring.
Two prominent spirals with signs of others. Clumps along the arms. Centre of galaxy in two clumps. Other galaxy presumably further away.
Could be a dust ring with us looking at the thicker part of the ring. Very beautiful and interesting.
Possibly merging galaxies with tidal debris extending vast distances out. Appearance of an arc, but that could be the other galaxy
