Galaxy Zoo Talk
Beautiful. Lots of #starformation.
Very bright #starforming regions.
Somebody dropped the telescope. 😃
Nice-looking clumpy, not-quite-symmetrical spiral.
Faint but very #blue, with another object below.
Hey, it's a...blob.
Very interesting arms here. Pretty good amount of #starforming going on too, I'd say.
There are probably spiral arms here, but all I see clearly is a nice #ring.
With that kind of distortion, this certainly looks like a #merger to me.
Nice #dustlane on this one.
The object on the right is a star in our own galaxy, with some image distortion because of its brightness.
Bit of a #ring around this one.
#Starforming #irregular with a little spiral sidekick.
#Blue elliptical or just a really blurry spiral?
I'll say #overlap, but I'm not certain.
Whole lot of #starforming here.
It's not clear enough to say for sure, but I swear this looks like a single arm wound very tightly.
Looks like there's a faint #dustlane to the left of center.
#ring
Looks like another #merger.
Gotta be a #merger going on there.
Nice face-on #starforming #ring.
Not sure if I'd call that a #ring or what.
#Irregular blue blob in a sea of foreground stars.
Looks a bit #disturbed, with a lot of #starformation.
Interesting colors, although I'm fairly certain that's due to an imaging issue rather than something occurring naturally.
Please put on your 3-D glasses now. (I'm guessing the telescope moved between filters or something like that. It's actually kinda nice.)
#starforming #ring
I like this one a lot. Good candidate for the galactic #alphabet.
#starformation
Looks #disturbed, possibly by the galaxy at lower-right.
#overlap
This is a #cluster of #elliptical galaxies: http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/chart.asp?ra=17.93551058&dec=16.85300271
#Irregular with a lot of #starformation. Could it have interacted with the blob on the right?
Possibly #lenticular, with a faint #ring around it.
A bit #clumpy, but may be #overlap.
Somewhat #disturbed #spiral with noticeable #starforming regions.
#Edgeon with a clearly visible #dustlane.
Nice three-armed, blue #spiral with a bright #foregroundstar.
Looks like there could be some #interaction there.
#satellitetrail
Egg-shaped #disturbed #spiral with a lot of #starformation.
#satellitetrail race!
Wow...is that just a single arm?
Pretty bright #starforming regions.
I believe the object on the right is a star in our own galaxy rather than a second galaxy. #foregroundstar
Not sure if it's a merger, but there appears to be a dust lane between the subject galaxy and the object to the left.
Beautiful tumbling football.
Looks like someone got nose-grease on the lens. #toofainttoclassify
#Irregular #starforming
Two obvious arms here, but I think I see a third to the right (which may just be a wispy extension of the one at bottom).
Very nice #spiral with numerous #starforming regions.
Really like this one. Not sure if the blue blob to the upper left is related in any way.
Wow...definitely a lot of #starformation, and it's quite #irregular.
Another faint #starforming #spiral, this one #barred.
That's a star that's much, much closer to the telescope than the subject galaxy. The blocky blueness is an artifact of the star's light.
#Starforming #spiral.
I think I would too. I just try not to throw the m-word around too much. 😃
Definitely #barred, and I believe I see some #starforming areas, but I don't see any arms.
It's a #satellitetrail. When a satellite crosses the visual field of the telescope, it appears as a green, red, or blue line.
Would you say #merger or #overlap?
Faint two-armed #spiral, looks a little #disturbed.
Big ol' #foregroundstar in front of what appears to be an unbarred #spiral.
Another #irregular one with quite a lot of #starforming.
Vivid #blue smudge.
#Starforming and possibly #disturbed #spiral.
Two #barred galaxies here, with some #starformation happening in the central subject. Interacting? Eh...I dunno.
#Disturbed #spiral?
I think this is just #overlap, but I'll admit I'm not sure.
Nice 2-armed #barred #spiral behind a big #foregroundstar.
Nice #elliptical with an apparent #dustlane.
Pretty good group of ellipticals.
A lot of #starforming here.
Beautiful tight #spiral, looks a little #disturbed.
Is this an irregular/disturbed galaxy or a planetary nebula?
The shape suggests elliptical, but the apparent #starforming areas don't.
Lots of loose arms on this #spiral and not much of a central bulge. Very nice.
Looks like #overlap. Both galaxies appear to be symmetrical (from what I can see). I don't think they're interacting.
Looks like a 3-armed #spiral with #starformation.
#Irregular or #disturbed with #starformation
Another #lenticular with a #ring...maybe.
Incomplete image, but a lot of #starformation in this #spiral.
Definitely #disturbed
Looks like a #barred #lenticular galaxy with a faint #ring around it.
I like the arms on this orange #spiral.
Interesting #blue smudge. I don't see a bulge at all, unless it's the bright area to the right of center.
#Clumpy #blue #spiral.
Beautiful big #spiral with #starforming regions.
Not sure if it's due to #interaction with the elliptical below it, but this #spiral is definitely #disturbed.
#Disturbed #barred #spiral with fairly prominent #starforming regions.
I wasn't sure this was a galaxy at all - it's awfully faint - but it appears to have blue #starforming regions.
Ghostly little spiral with a bit of #overlap.
#irregular
Gigantic #satellitetrail
Kind of #irregular, unless that's due to image artifacts.
Gorgeous #barred #starforming #spiral.
#Starforming #irregular with only one clear arm. Looks like there's a faint second arm to upper right, maybe.
#asteroid
What is this? Two #elliptical galaxies with a bit of #overlap, and a...blue blob?
Absolutely beautiful #irregular #starforming galaxy and pals.
One of the supporting acts is upstaging the headliner here, if you ask me.
Looks irregular, but I think it's just #overlap.
Looks a little #clumpy.
Hmmmm, two of these in a row!
Really nice #edgeon disc with a boxy bulge and prominent #dustlane.
#Satellitetrail trying to upstage a lovely barred spiral. Rude! EDIT: Not sure why my comment looks so large.
I think it's a #spiral, but it's #blue, #clumpy, and not at all uniform.
#Clumpy #starformation regions.
Looks like a faint blue #satellitetrail here.
#Ring, maybe #lenticular - can't make out any arms.
End of a #satellitetrail here.
Looks completely...amorphous. Don't know what to call that!
Can't make out the arms, but there's at least one #ring here.
Looks a little #disturbed to me - not quite symmetrical.
#Spiral or #lenticular? Can't really see the arms clearly.
Looks like #starforming on the rim.
#Nebula?
Love when I sign on and the first pic is this nice. Great #barred two-armed #spiral with #starformation regions apparent.
Looks like a #merger to me. The lower galaxy's asymmetry suggests some kind of interaction, doesn't it?
No unusual features here, but I really like this. Just how many galaxies are in this shot?
Ignoring the red #foregroundstar, are there two loose #spiral arms on this thing, or am I imagining them?
Really nice dust lane on this one.
Somewhat distorted shape, and I think some imaging weirdness going on in the center.
This one may have a distorted shape, or there may just be something odd happening to the image. I kinda think it's the latter.
No idea on this one. Could be just some blurry stars...but it looks like popcorn to me.
I'll leave it to the professionals: #merger or #overlap?
Gray blob at the bottom - another galaxy?
Not sure if this is one galaxy or two. There's definitely something irregular about it.
#Spiral, certainly, but would this be considered barred or not?
Looks like it's almost all bar and very little #spiral.
#Odd shape. Not really sure what I'm looking at.
Pretty sure this is where Muppets come from.
How many arms are there? I see three, with maybe a fourth at upper left.
Don't see much of anything here but stars.
#satellitetrail or #lightsaber
Definite #ring
Is that dust on the right side or an artifact?
#edgeon #overlap
Looks like a face-on, loose, #barred #spiral with two arms. Would love to see it clearly.
#artifact #incomplete
Nice blue-green #spiral with a smattering of stars.
#artifact
I'm guessing that's just a #foregroundstar.
#cluster
Low contrast, but looks interesting. Would love to see a clearer picture of this one.
Possible #merger with the #irregular #blue object
Some sort of #artifact just right of center?
Pretty busy pic with a heck of a bright #star #artifact
There's a lot going on here. One #edgeon and several other things.
#foregroundstar and a beautiful blue #spiral
#clumpy object to the upper left
Beautiful. Lots of #starformation.
Very bright #starforming regions.
