Galaxy Zoo Talk
@Budgieye - I tried your link and it threw me for a loop, could not see what you were saying. Then I discovered how to find the proper coord
I classified it as edge-on with a dustlane. Is that what I am seeing?
Looking so small, I first thought it could be a star.
Edge On: " If the galaxy looks needle-like, ...then click "yes," otherwise choose "no" (even for galaxies that are almost edge-on)." #Spiral
Bullseye!
Seahorse?
A clump of cotton balls.
Do not know what to make of this.
Fuzzy, developing into a barred spiral?
Some green and blue at the "tail end". Just an artifact?
Looks like the buzz saw is going to slice the elliptical up!!
Very nice looking!
Talk is where you bring up other questions.
I would say "nothing" unless it is odd in some way. The page says "Note: Please always classify the galaxy in the centre of the image."
Birthing
Cut off
I see a #green spot to the right of center
Too #small
#wrong_size - won't even guess at it.
Read somewhere this could have an #echo?
Another bright one.
#artifact shade of blue; sliver of an #edge-on galaxy with dustlane lower right. Also #overlapping items. looks better in SDSS
#wrong_size
Small #dustlane
Thx, nice answer. "galactic center" - sounds like Toronto (Canada) HA!
Awfully #SATURATED
My guess too, with a smattering of #dust
Simulated #sprite in a galaxy?
#wrong_size to determine much
Something knocked this off centre
Suspect a #star in the foreground?
Unusually #bright; and off center
#artifact streak
Is this #wrong_size or #artifact or just #blob?
#barred? But it might be the green @artifact streaking thru it that throws me off,
Classed this one on #edge, with a sprinkle of dust. Is it a #merger also?
#artifact thru the heart of this #forming #spiral?
#merger?
#green #overlap does not appear to be an artifact, then what could it be?
Are there two #rings?
#merger
My guess is two galaxies in a dance #merger
Age they going #binary or a #merger?
Just yer typ. disturbed spiral galaxy, or that is my guess!
Both are indicated as galaxies.
A brighter spot about one o'clock on the core
Read the post, so I thought I would add the tag #asteroid
I would like to think a nearby galaxy got this cute elliptical spinnin'
I said merging, with the other galaxy, just could not find its redshift in SDSS.
First off, it is simulated...
SDSS tells me it is a star buddy
Thanks, never seem to remember that hashtag!
#artifact
It has a buddy...
Awfully #small
Seems to be non-uniform
An #hourglass shape?
#merger or miles apart?
#disturbed, causing some re-birthing.
#star, right?
Bent wing-tips
Looks a little stripped
Why the albino HAL computer eye look?
I remember seeing this in an old Star Trek episode!
Bit of an 'X' or box shape
Oops, some investigating and I am wrong. 😕 Some kind of galaxy, if I read the data right.
I called it a #merger, not a pimple or background item.
One arm looks damaged
With #dustlane
Start of a #spiral?
Very nice.
Appears slightly #bent Tidal pull?
Large #bar
Small #group of galaxies with an #artifact
Something made it a bad day for it.....
#edge on or all bar?
Could this one been sucked dry by the neighboring galaxy?
I think there is a slight #warp to this one.
That is why I have to ask the experts... do not know where you find that!
Like a spider egg sac hatching!
Would that be a little lensing on the top?
#merge
Galaxy in the background
Could the #blue blobs be lensing?
Another #star inside
Is that a foreground #star?
Nike has been here.
Double #lens? First for ME!
Very #odd one
Why less noise in the upper left Quadrant and what are those two 'tadpole' looking galaxies there?
#Dailyzoo item? What are they?
#orange
#ring
#headlights
Looks like a #dual ?
Center appears to be #bent in relation to the remainder
#star
The Question Mark Galaxies
What could the green streak be?
What is the #green spot?
#asteroid upper left? #arc on galaxy?
Is the red star in the foreground or behind?
#dust spot?
Why that? Sky Server says #galaxy
#star ? On left, maybe #lens ?
#distort like a knife slice
Looks like the foreground blob is casting a shadow on the nucleus
Is this a merger or just in the same line of sight?
Spooky face in time for Halloween!
Question mark? Or it 'slipped' on some ice.
Headlights in the fog!
What is this?
Torn apart?
