Galaxy Zoo Talk
Does it have the remnants of a merger?
Had to guess a bit with this one
Not sure what is going on wth this one.
just WOW. The centre of this galaxy is huge, the sweeping arms studded with star forming regions. gorgeous
#barred #spiral single arm? blue star forming regions?
very feint spiral arms or a ring?
is this a #lens? The crescent shaped object to the right
Interesting as it has a #sundog effect
#barred with a long single arm
What is the green arcing?
very delicate #2armed #spiral
Is this a #barred #disturbed galaxy? It kind of looks a #spiral gone a bit wrong
#barred with a #ring developing but also irregular or disturbed?
is this a #ringed galaxy but with very loose spiral arms?
It is difficult to see a pattern to this one. Was not sure how to classify this one.
It is very beautiful. Who knows what worlds are in its midst.
Is this a #bulgeless galaxy? Are all the blobs surrounding it part of it?
#ring #barred galaxy
this is rather gorgeous. What exactly are we looking at?
This is a lovely #spiral.
Two luminescent eyes? #overlap? or #merger
Is this #ringed?
very busy galaxy
I marked as ringed, as to me there is a circle around the bulge. It looks unusual.
very pretty #barred #ringed
Is there one arm of this galaxy sweeping halfway round?
Is there interaction or is it #overlap?
#barred #loose spiral
little blob to 11 o'clock.
a one armed spiral?
it looks even odder on skyserver
Anything odd? I ticked them all!!!!! #dustlane #merger #disturbed etc. what is going on here?
This one I ticked 'other' then ran away. The brighter blobs stars, but I am not sure what the pale blob by the orange blob is..
thank you... ..
sort of a fried egg effect. Why is the central bulge so distinct?
Not sure if that is #lensing at 11 o'clock. But there is a reddish flare.
sort of a spiral
not sure if edge on. there is a little clump at 10 o'clock
what are the green dots?
It sort of looks like a spiral but not quite.
Is this a barred spiral (loose)?
#disturbed #merger spiral arms gone a bit awry
very very pretty
Is it a very loose spiral or a wobbly edge on?
#barred #ringed ?
interacting or overlap?
There seems a lot of blue in this galaxy. why do some galaxies have more star forming regions than others?
unusual colour and non-central bulge
Thank you ElizabethB. I think that is how I classified it.
not sure if overlap or interacting.
#disturbed #barred #spiral?
Was not sure about this galaxy. The central bulge is not central and there appears another bulge behind it.
Is this a #bulgeless galaxy?
an extra blob here too, or overlap?
I wasn't sure how to classify this one. Is it a #bar? I am glad I wont be the only one classifying it.
#irregular or #disturbed ?
an extra blob in this galaxy. not sure if it is overlap or merge.
Is this a #disturbed spiral. As it looks a bit lop sided
the left hand light doesn't appear to be part of the central galaxy, but the right hand one does.
it looks mergery rather than overlap
#loose spiral. a bit of the lower arm has come unattached.
it looks like there are 2 centres to this galaxy. Or are they overlapped?
2 merged galaxies? or an irregular one?
are the 2 red spots, that appear to be on its arms, actually part of this galaxy?
Are these interacting/merging or just superimposed?
a space butterfly. #merger
Is this a #disturbed spiral?
Is there a #dustlane ?
#merger the top galaxy is very distorted almost a wavy shape
#2arm pretty galaxy
extremely loose arms. is it a #ring? as well
What is the clumpy bit on the right?
Utterly stunning. Are the turquoise clusters new stars forming? The intense blue at the top a star forming region?
These sort of smudgy galaxies. What are they?
When I come across smudges like these are they irregular/disturbed or other?
I think there are 4 arms here but not uniform. or perhaps 2? I put 4 and now I think there are 2...... or is it 4 but irregular...? help
what is the difference between disturbed and irregular?
no idea what is going on here.
Are these 4 /5 #merging or not at all ?
They look like they are interacting #merger ?
It also has some sort of larger structure at 10 o'clock.
Are these merging or just two separate galaxies?
I marked as distorted AND dustlane to cover all the possible causes of this. But I don't really know.
these two look #merging
I think I have been looking at these too long...can I make out a red 'flare' at each extremity? Is that a lens?
the picture in the link is incredible. One is being squished by the other
The galaxy seems slightly distorted.
Are these two near each other or just superimposed?
the spiral arm pattern has gone a bit awry
I put this as #irregular
are these two near each other? Merging?
an odd shape. should ones like this be marked 'irregular'?
Is this a merger?
It has an extra bit on its LH arm
this one has a very odd shape.
It has a little bit joined on
Why is the bulge unclear?
marked it as #dustlane.
This one is so lovely.
just thought this was really beautiful
What is going on here?
I thought it looked single armed too...just a really really long one.
The red centre. What causes that?
Are these two merging, or are there no where near each other?
I marked this as a #dustlane but I am not sure.
disco in space?
Is this a galaxy or something else? Is the red dot part of it?
Not sure what is going on in here it looks like there are 3 'centres'
I wasn't sure what was going on with this one, it looks like some of its arms are missing.
This is a beautiful galaxy.
