Edge on disk with unusual and improbably symmetrical disturbance or barred spiral with puney and beyond loose arms?
The disturbance and new star formation suggest a recent merger? #asteroid signature to the centre left.
Absolutely loving this #merger between what appear to me as two #barred spirals.
I find it ever so slightly disturbing looking at so many galaxies in one small image 😃
I feel slightly embarrassed - I realise with hindsight how much care I need to take with the level of ambient lighting when classifying.

Or perhaps a bright star from a #poorqualityimage. The bigger picture ...
Three way #merger
This is a bright star - the dark centre is an over exposure effect.

Looking at the bigger picture I'm thinking blue stars with coincidental alignment.

See the discussion "exceptional disturbance or something else?" for the 'bigger picture'. 😃
No nucleus, very #loose and #blue.
Unfortunately the classification options for this Hubble image did not allow me to add #dustlane
#barred spiral
A #ring galaxy
Very sparse, very irregular. Lots of star #formation.
Amusing star/galaxy alignment.
Highly dynamic merger evidence in the disturbance pattern?
An example of an irregular galaxy showing lots of hot new star formation?
Just stars?
An evenly matched eliptical merger? (Do we need another numeral 7? #maths #alphabet)
I'd love to know the explanation for this one!
Kissing seahorses! Or the numeral 8? #merger #alphabet
The spiral arms seem offset from the nucleus by a smooth or even ring like structure - too regular to be due to a merger?
This appears to be a smooth galaxy with three nuclei. The quality, symmetry and alignment seem to safely exclude any being stars.
A dense and unusual clustering of galaxies?
Three way #merger?
Given the very perfectly and sharply defined circular edge to this object, am I correcting in interpreting this object as a star?
I would appreciate more help and advice in categorising images of this type. None of the examples have similar remotely similar properties.
I'm unsure what I'm looking at. Would others agree the centred object is in an advanced stage of merging with the larger body on the right?
The colours keep getting stranger!
Three smooth galaxies or three stars? Looking at the bigger picture on SkyServer suggests stars.
Unusual clustering to the arms of this galaxy.
Remarkably complex irregularity. Exceptional levels of star #formation in all parts of the outer spiral.
Remarkable width to depth aspect
Spectacular dust lane. #dustlane
This appears to be a candidate merger but I feel there is a lack of disturbance/interaction. Can an expert comment #questions.
Unusually #loose but nonetheless uniform.
Rather than the more normal localised disturbance, the entire galaxy appears to be remarkably uniformly bent.
I see a very faint vertical line through the galaxy centre on an incredible scale - so large it feels like an artifact. #jet #questions
