Galaxy Zoo Talk
a very slight hint on a bar & spiral , quite obvious on skyserver http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=10.99340519&dec=-0.22262971
yes, when I look at it again 😒
result of a merger?
pretty off-middle bar (or is it just the perspective?)
or do you mean the spot on 184.79115823 / 3.85652663
you mean the blue one almost in the corner?
looks interesting esp. on skyserver http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=184.79115823&dec=3.85652663
UGC 11881 starforming?
strange shape
looks like a ring on skyserver http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=228.13785335&dec=1.50481785
#merger they appear much closer together on skyserver http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=120.97919792&dec=26.52063028
UGC 00037
yes relatively, I'm not afraifd they'd come for dinner soon 😄
Just checked wikipedia, they say 54 Mio LY, Cepheids were used for that
looks like a green pea and there are others nearby http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/chart.asp?ra=215.75092905&dec=0.55280291
Lambda-shape
with a z of 0.00653245, how near is it?
it even looks better and more complex on skyserver
upper right not on image
looks like a merger on skyserver
there's a spiral galaxy, it's easier to see in skyserver http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237648705133281621
looks so different in skyserver
no, there's a spiral, I'd say
just bar no spiral
the bar appears somehow tilted
there is a spiral with bar, I'd say
is there a spiral, not easy to see due to interlacing effect.
ring & bar?
this area should be photographed again
just nearby #stars
merger?
so they look more or less like this in SDSS images?
loose spiral on http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237660670888443933
Spiral with bar on SDSS http://skyserver.sdss3.org/dr8/en/tools/chart/navi.asp?ra=42.78521049&dec=1.03101343
similar blob: http://talk.galaxyzoo.org/#/subjects/AGZ00078wx
would say that's an artifact. There's a galaxy @ 145.40641/32.31697 which is relatively bright in infrared, but I doubt it is the "blob"
The spiral character is pretty clear on skyserver, so actually there are two long arms
just checked skyserver, it looks like a spiral there
can this be regarded as a spiral?
it's connected to another galaxy 355.48957/-3.63917
#bar #ring
I think that's a common artifact on UKIDSS
the picture is centred at a wrong position is 30.12267/29.89675 should be 30.12362/29.89900 the 1st is rather a nearby star
greenpea or voorwerp?
merger? z=0.167 no spectrum for left galaxy
145.40774477 / 32.31159585
The cyan object jst left above the central galaxy. It's red on Skyserv., there is a cyan obj. on the Skyserv, but it's a star & 2 far away
or arc?
the cyan objects left of the galaxy they appear red on skyserver and are calssified as galaxies
arc?
satellites, perhaps something like GRACE http://solarsystem.nasa.gov/missions/profile.cfm?MCode=GRACE
#merger ?
spiral?
z = 0.071(no spectral data for the other object)
I guess a star in the line of view. edit: Skyserver says: "star" (couldn't link no chars left)
#merger, no spectrum for left galaxy
how do classify this? (other?)
ring or spiral?
#ring - is that red spot a Red giant?
#bar & #ring ?
It even looks stranger in the zoomed-out skyserver picture, was the left arm attracted by a heavy mass? A singularity?
where does the red colour come from? Dust or molecular clouds?
#ring ?
it's a bar not edge-on?
#greenpea or #artifact?
dust lane?
#greenpea ?
there's no ring, is there?
#spiral or not?
twisted arms?
2 #nuclei ?
#voorwerp
multible nuclei? (right)
#nearbystars ?
looks like 2 arms merge into one
seems to be a typical error of the UKIDSS, I collect such images, perhaps it can give clue how to fix it
#voorwerp ?
#greenpea or #voorwerp
you're in the matrix 😉 is there something wrong with UKIDSS? There is a plenty of pictures with green spots from them (cf. my collection)
TIE-fighter galaxy 😉
a green spot on the left arm
#greenpea
Globular cluster?
why?
thee green square again (and two #voorwerp s below the galaxy?)
Ring shaped #voorwerp s?
I thinks it's most likey an #artifact (there's another green spot below) but what if these are square #voorwerp s?
A #merger ?
Bar without spiral?
Binary star?
