what could that dark spot in the very center be?

seems like hairs all around. tendrils. also, top left edge of the object. green gas(maybe its behind)
looks like a space bug splatted on the lens! the 'legs' look very cool
just off center, to the right, there is a 'bowtie' shaped 'shadow.' wonder if its an artifact from the lens?
i am curious about the object below the galaxy. is it behind the galaxy, or near it and attracting dust?
