This is an incredible image. This spiral k.u.g. galaxy seems to have just one arm that is raising upwards as well as outwards.
Which ever it is, we can agree that 'Conservation of Angular Momentum' is in effect. 😃

Could we have a failed loose Barred Spiral here?
Discovered 1863 bt Albert Marth, NGC 7074 is a double bar nucleus in Pegasus. I wonder about that serious looking yellow cloud.
#G-pair. The long bright irregular in front of the nucleus which looks like a #bluecaterpillar is a #k.u.g.
looks single armed but there are two i think
#bluecaterpillar ? not very defined but its there
What do you think do we have a merger coming?

yea i considered that but seeing how disturbed the outer ring is and how the 'edge-on' seems to have been stretched i went with a merger.

and if you follow the bar you can trace the lower arm to the rim at 4 o'clock. Hence my first call SBc-type
I see how you can think its a tight SBa but the star forming regions for me are giving that illusion. You can see the loose arm at the top.

i dont know what you mean by a 'dip'
yes. but i wouldnt say 'only a star'
not massive enough to create a lens. nice ring though

Im going with #merger with these. cant find red shift though.
This is one of those hubble deep oranges. I have a nice collection called Distant Oranges if you are interested.I Like those for some reason
#barredspiral perhaps
The nucleus of this elliptical looks double could be glare though. Also seems the halo is pointed on one end. Any one else see that?
Got the red shift Alan. upper is z0.050899 and the lower is z0.050982 so id say that is close enough to consider it a merger. Do you agree?
im pretty sure the two on the left have merged but the third may be an overlap. any thoughts?
The top of that #merger
Super slim with #dustlane
Perfect,
Do you see how the top elliptical's halo is merging w the bottom. It may be an over lap. cant find red shift yet so cant tell.

Heres a nice view. You can really see the depth in this shot
Looks like a triple exposure of the three objects.
This is one of those 'subtle' oranges. Love em!
Looks like #starformation in this ring
Could that little elliptical be the culprit after all?
And here is the smaller one. You can get a much better view of how the giant elliptical is pulling this smaller spiral out of shape
Wow! it looks like that little galaxy to the upper left is being pulled into this monster.
I suppose this is a merger. the smaller, left hand galaxy seems to have a good deal of excitement going on.
The blue red green object is an asteroid
smooth, round,merger (if you like)
I dont know if that object to the upper right is a tiny galaxy or a huge cluster but it seems to be having a good go at this big one.
#ring with two #asteroids

There is another galaxy below and it looks like they ar interacting with each other which would cause this kind of star formation, blue areas
Great link, thanks.
i see red yellow green. Maybe the blue is lost in the black. Perhaps im deluding myself. Wouldnt be the first time. : )
Top right edge, 1 o'clock
Thats the one. Ahhhh
Lets play 'spot the asteroid'
This is and incredible shot . All that green and then the super red star
love this #nebula
Of course youre right. Its the super smooth outer edge that gives it that possibility for me.
Is that a dust lane i see or a glitch?
Yea they dont give you that option with SDSS galaxies
Is this elliptical?
Heres an interesting look at a star
It looks as if these two have #merged
nice one. #elliptical
heres a beautiful #elliptical
Great find. Looks like all that light green might be star formation and has blown a hole in the Nebula. My thoughts anyway.
i think no lens. Nice barred ring though
this is the dimmest galaxy Ive ever seen

That is caused from the spin of the galaxy and difference in gravity from the center (more) to the ends of the arms (less). Me thinks.

looks like a #cluster of distant red galaxies with the elliptical in foreground .
Here they are.
#merger Looks as if this smaller galaxy is being pulled in
Heres a beautiful #barredring
Heres an interesting placement of an artifact.
You have to find out their red shifts and this can only be obtained if the galaxies both have their spectra worked out.
This looks like a distant merger but hard to tell
some star formation going on there, me thinks.
the star is obscuring it though. that red object is confusing as well.
looks like there might be some lensing there but not sure. it could be that there is another galaxy near the bottom of the edge on.
The purple object under main galaxy seems to be disturbing it somewhat.
#barredelliptical
#barredring almost a double ring
some nice #starformation.
#starformation Cant make out if this is spiral or not.
#barredring A beautiful example
Nice bar. I wonder about the little cloud to the upper left
that is something else!
there is no spectra so hard to tell but there is a little blueish area that may be star formation caused by the collision .
Is the blueish cloud to the right a disturbance? #blueclumps
cant make out if this is an elliptical or not?
z 0.021, z 0.020
Red shift for left hand galaxy is 0.007. For right is 0.008
Its half of a spiral and thats the dust lane in front. check it on sky server. Its impressive!
its so distant its almost at the edge of the cameras resolution. It doesnt have a spectra so cant check its red shift but its faaaaaar off.
Its a streak from a satellite or a small meteor or something moving in front of the lens.
a beautiful barred ring. I collected it. I hope you dont mind.
good place to look for lensing!
Beaut!
It would be a ring of stars.
I thought a dust cloud but it seems an odd place for that. Unless the dust cloud isnt anywhere close it should be flung to the outer edges.
The center of this spiral seems to be missing.

You have to find out their red shifts and this can only be obtained if the galaxies both have their spectra worked out.

some star formation going on there, me thinks.
the star is obscuring it though. that red object is confusing as well.
