same galaxy twice

I saw this galaxy twice. The first time just as a close-up of the centre of this photo and then this one straight after.
Is that possible?Posted

Yes, sometimes the software thinks there is more than one object (a bright spot for instance) and that way you get to see the same galaxy twice (or more).

Whoa. The same thing happened with me, but I think it was because I didnt save. It was a very blurry photo, and you can see it in my collection of blurry photos.

No worries. The SDSS software sometimes identifies parts of a galaxy as separate entities. And so you can get the same galaxy multiple times, each time with a different center .Just classify the whole thing one more time again ! ;-DD
