For Sunday Dec 21 to Monday 2014
http://spaceweather.com/archive.php?view=1&day=20&month=12&ent_c3.gif
EDIT: it seems most of the blast is not coming towards Earth. This is good, I wouldn't like to have to replace dozens of satellites.
EDIT: again, it was cloudy for me... 😦

Heard auroras sighted in Maine; hoping the storm will be sighted here in NYC but nothing yet. Read about the CME in Space Weather, great site.

Another huge CME dubbed the "Star Wars CME" is headed again for the Northerly latitudes on or about May 10, 2017. Very excited to read that there were spectacular auroras sighted in Holland then, it is very rare to see this that far south! Here in New York we were just too far south, but as promised on a clear evening we were able to see a faint glow North West; just at sunset!

Aurora will be good for those in the southern hemisphere, where nights are long. Not so good for those in continuous daylight in the North.

Yes, it may be good for Canada, the limit is close to the northern states, so keeping my fingers crossed!

I read that it will be better observing in the southern hemisphere, but we should see in "spaceweather" the spectacular auroras recorded on April 22 this year in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota!

Auroras and the elusive "proton arc" dubbed "Steve"; and no longer understood to be proton activity, sighted again in Canada, this time in a short film, on spaceweather.com. Auroras sighted as far south as Maine!

Spectacular auroras sighted as far south as California and upstate New York last week, best viewing seems to have
been in Canada as a 2nd huge CME grazed the earth! Spectacular southern lights were seen in New Zealand. There may be more in store for us as per spaceweather.com, great pictures in the "realtime aurora" folder!Posted
